Late October Thoughts

1) The Packers (record of 1-5) are done for this year. Stick a fork in them and take a bite. They'll be lucky to win two of their next seven games. Sad to see Favre be part of this injured (and bad) of a team.

2) I'm dusting off my crockpot for immediate usage. Mama's Italian Beef and South-of-the-Border Roast will be realized in a week.

3) The Cardinals lost to the Astros because Jim Edmonds didn't get on base enough in front of Albert Pujols.

4) Homecoming can be lame because you have an identical conversation with almost everyone you greet. Only two questions ever get asked: "Where do you live now?" and "What is your job?"

5) A couple of birthday greetings to Duffdaddy (10/23) and Philthy (10/25).

Czech, Please

Things I enjoyed in Prague:
  • $8 soccer jerseys
  • scenic Charles Bridge and Old Town Square
  • lots of meat and potatoes and some decent Czech beer
  • good times of solutide in a foreign place

Things I didn't enjoy in Prague:
  • uncomfortable bed and pillows in my hotel
  • no ESPN
  • 48-hour case of the runs
  • no free refills on drinks at restaurants

All in all, it was a great experience. No guarantees that I'll ever go there again, though.

Go White Sox.
