Late October Thoughts

1) The Packers (record of 1-5) are done for this year. Stick a fork in them and take a bite. They'll be lucky to win two of their next seven games. Sad to see Favre be part of this injured (and bad) of a team.

2) I'm dusting off my crockpot for immediate usage. Mama's Italian Beef and South-of-the-Border Roast will be realized in a week.

3) The Cardinals lost to the Astros because Jim Edmonds didn't get on base enough in front of Albert Pujols.

4) Homecoming can be lame because you have an identical conversation with almost everyone you greet. Only two questions ever get asked: "Where do you live now?" and "What is your job?"

5) A couple of birthday greetings to Duffdaddy (10/23) and Philthy (10/25).

Reason #2 the Cardinals lost to the Astros: Roy Oswalt

Reason #3: The Cardinals did not catch any breaks (see also; Roger Clemens being out for the series agains the Sox)

Homecomings can also not be lame, because you can rekindle friendships with lost friends who imagined spending your 21st birthday with you.
