Watch Game Seven...You'll Thank Me Later

For all you NBA haters out there, I invite you watch the first Game 7 in the NBA finals in over a decade on Thursday night at 8 PM on ABC. If you haven't been following, the Spurs and Pistons are locked up at 3 games apiece after a classic Game 5 (one of the top 10 basketball games I've ever seen) and a surprise Piston win in San Antonio last night.

Worth tracking during Game 7 is how Tim Duncan -- who I argue is the best player in the world -- responds after some subpar 4th quarter performances. For a great read about Duncan's failures, check this out.

Man, thanks for the phone call to make sure I wasn't missing Game 5, but, regretfully, I was fast asleep, and I missed the worst single defensive move in Rasheed Wallace's career: leaving Horry open for 3 to put the Spurs up.

But, he came back with the thunder, sealing the Piston win late in Game 6. Game 7 will be a war.

I started the Finals hoping the Spurs would win, as I believed the Pistons got here courtesy of a freak injury to my main man D. Wade, and I wanted Shaq to get a ring without Kobe. But slowly, I have come to root for D-town, like I did last year against the sick Lakers.

Tim Duncan? I like him, but he's definitely not the best player in the world. The Spurs proved this year that they didn't need him to win during the regular season.

The NBA is great.

Baseball? Oh, right, that thing that takes up space between the NBA Finals and the NFL's Week 1.

Anyway, Tim "Timmy" Duncan is not only NOT the best player in the world, he's not even the best at his position. I'd take Amare and Dirk over him, and close behind are Jermaine O'Neal and Pau Gasol.

Tim was one of the best, dominant in years past, although I'd argue that Shaq should of won one of those MVP's Tim got back-to-back.

But, the best players in world? AI, T-Mac, D. Wade, Shaq, Dirk, even dumb Kobe probably are all ahead of Tim.
